Container Shipping Services Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Container Shipping Services Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient transportation of goods via container shipping services. Your primary duties will include coordinating with carriers, managing logistics, and ensuring timely delivery of shipments.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate container shipping activities, including booking cargo space, arranging pickups, and tracking shipments.
Communicate effectively with carriers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient transportation operations.
Monitor shipment schedules and proactively address any delays or issues that may arise.
Maintain accurate records of shipping transactions, including invoices, bills of lading, and customs documentation.
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize shipping processes and minimize costs.
Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements related to container shipping.
Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquiries and resolving shipping-related concerns.
Analyze shipping data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
Implement strategies to enhance container utilization and reduce carbon footprint.
Participate in vendor negotiations and contract management activities to secure favorable shipping rates and terms.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
Proven experience in container shipping or logistics coordination.
Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using shipping software and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of Incoterms and shipping documentation.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate shipping schedules.
Certification in transportation or logistics (e.g., Certified International Shipping Specialist) is a plus.
