Re: GNURadio is disappointing [was: Greeting and a question]

Hi all,

I certainly didn’t expect such an avalanche of replies, but it’s cool to
read that there’s a lot of people who don’t just use the USRPs, but also
make use of the signal processing features of GNU Radio. I guess I was
distracted by the huge number of posts regarding hardware vs. the
smaller number of posts regarding GNU Radio features.

Here at CEL we have a couple of GNU Radio projects going on, not all of
which are reported here, so I should have known which replies to
get. I think the conference is a great idea, by the way, it would
certainly be a good thing for this community.

Greetings to all fellow GR hackers,
MB

Here at UFES(Federal University of Esprito Santo - Brazil) we are
starting
to work with GNURADIO trying to have a decent lab. We plan to use it for
simulation and “real” tests, but the the brazilian bureaucracy is a
real,
and very hard, obstacle to us. We’ll have a basic course in
communications
system entirely based on GNURADIO on july I hope. I also have the idea
to
use the basis of gnuradio to make a tool to process electric guitar
signals
with an ARM or avr32 micro but it’s another long term idea.

I don’t agree with your criticism of Marcus. He has been EXTREMELY
helpful to me, and has spent a lot of time helping many people on this
list with GNU Radio/USRP issues for a long time. Let’s all keep this
list focused, respectful, and fair and unbiased.
