back on Aug. 18, 2009 Eric had proposed that 0xffff be used to
indicate “no daughterboard connected”.
Is this still in the developers’ radar? Matt? Josh?

Dimitris,
I’m not sure what you mean here. Any time you have no daughterboard on
the USRP or USRP2, it will register as 0xFFFF. We treat that like a
BasicRX / BasicTX.
