When I try to build ruby from branch ruby_1_8 with --enable-shared
option I get error:
/usr/bin/ld: regex.o: relocation R_X86_64_32S against `a local symbol’
can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
regex.o: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
I have 64bit architecture. It’s something wrong with my configuration
or ruby source?
