JRuby running Rails 3.0 in 1.9 mode

As of December 2010 and JRuby 1.5.5, can I start building a Rails 3.0
app
and run JRuby in 1.9 mode? Or is 1.9 support not ready for that yet?

I skimmed the mailing list, wiki, and JIRA, but didn’t find a clear
answer
to this question. Apologies if it’s answered elsewhere and I missed it.

We don’t claim that 1.9 mode will fully support Rails development at
this time. We’re making another push for 1.6 to make sure rudimentary
Rails things will work, so hopefully by the time 1.6 is out you’ll
have a better chance of doing this.
