MySQL connection problem

Despite having successfully deployed 4 rails apps on RedHat and MySQL,
I’m now getting this when running new apps developed under Rails 1.0 &
Ruby 1.8.4

Mysql::Error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query: SHOW FIELDS
FROM visits

Any ideas?

Are you using the mysql gem?
