Problem importing gnuradio

hi,
i am facing a very strange problem that when in python i write:
import gnuradio
python successfully imports the package .

but when i run benchmark_tx.py it says
ImportError: No module named gnuradio.

Please help.

Well i have made some changes to my .bashrc file and here are the
appended lines. the problem has arisen after these changes.before my
gnuradio used to work fine.

i also worked on hydra for a while and used the same script in my
bashrc. works fine for me. But one thing, although its strange but i had
to remove the lines that are commented( ones that start with hash #)
because otherwise restarting the terminal would give an error. Also i
put only these lines under my

#package config definitions
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/lib/pkgconfig:/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH

as mentioned in the hydra install guide.
