Wonderful writeup and on deploying a Radiant with Passenger (mod-rails).

Maybe someone™ with DreamHost access can confirm that it works, then
update our wiki regarding deploying Radiant on DreamHost[1]?

Thanks Arik, I appreciate your plug

Bjørn, I can (of course) confirm that I have Radiant running on
Dreamhost using Passenger. I haven’t had time to add actual content to
the instance yet, but Radiant, Gallery and MultiSite is fully
functional, albeit slow to load when Passenger must be spawned:

http://radiant.casperfabricius.com/admin/ (“real” Radiant site)
http://hotelotium.dk/ (a mirrored multisite)
http://hotelotium.dk/admin/ (just to prove the point)

I can update the wiki entry on running Radiant on Dreamhost, if you
don’t mind it being without the use of the gem (never seen the point
of using the gem), and with a Capistrano recipe added.

Cheers,
Casper F.

If you find the time to update the wiki, that would nice as your post is
a
good how-to.

Just to clarify, I’m starting to take a special interest in the wiki
content, but I have no authority there.

Okay, the wiki entry is updated:

While writing, I realized that I make quite a lot of assumptions about
the user’s knowledge in the field of Rails. I assume that the user
know about Subversion, Capistrano, Rails itself in general and about
ssh (which might be particularly cryptic to the novice user). Should
we add sections to explain about these things?

Since Capistrano is more of an option than a requirement, maybe add a
section about moving the files over the oldskool way via SFTP?

on the Dreamhost page, as it is already lengthy enough. On the other
hand, users that are not into Rails or development in general should
probably just choose on the one-click CMS installers at Dreamhost.

That’s a good point, David, and I have updated the guide so the user
can choose between Capistrano and SFTP:
