Rails routing error

clicking this link in the view
<%= link_to ‘Profile’, new_user_profile_path(@user) %>
causes
NoMethodError in Profiles#new undefined method `profiles_path’
here’s the route from rake routes
new_user_profile GET
/users/:user_id/profile/new(.:format)
profiles#new

i’m using devise so i think current_user is the same as @user but i
tried
that too and it causes the same error

I got it solved i had declared profiles as a nested resource under
users,
but i still needed to declare it again, standalone
resources :profiles ~ thanks
