Well, this is a tad embarassing. Somehow (?) I’ve been unsubscribed from
ruby-talk, and I don’t know how. But the interesting thing, and perhaps
what all the unsubscribe chatter is about – from the mailing sign up
form at Mailing Lists , after
entering my info and submitting the form, I got a 405 Not Allowed error
page from nginx.

Now, as to why I am suddenly unsubscribed…

The problem is known and about to be solved soon, hopefully.
(To avoid further irritation I added a notice on the web page.)

But I do not think the broken form is the cause for the
unsubscribe problems some people seem to have.

BTW. Since recently you can report problems with www.ruby-lang.org
on GitHub (GitHub - ruby/www.ruby-lang.org: Source of the https://www.ruby-lang.org website.). This does not
include the mailing list and its administration, though.
