Unfuddle SVN hosting

Previously I asked about SVN hosting, I’ve just found this:

If I’m allowed to comment (nonpromotionally), their app truly captivates
me.

It seems their app is new, just a few months old… but the features
they bring is … well… to put it very modestly, good.

Just in case any of you have similar requirements that I’m looking
for… check them out.

Roundhaus is coming out soon as well. I’ve been a beta tester for a
while. I’ve been really impressed with it and have been working with
our designer on the new Rubyurl site through their subversion. It has
built-in continuous integration testing and shows RCOV results.

Works with PostgreSQL, SQLite, and MySQL… and even runs our RSpec
code.

Not sure when it’s officially launching… but keep an eye open for it.

I used unfuddle for a little while and loved it. Unfortunately, their
pricing is incredibly expensive. Our company goes through about three
projects per month and so we quickly wound up in their most expensive
plan. For $100/month we purchased a reputable dedicated server to run
as many projects as we want with a lot more space.

The safe, affordable option is CVSDude:

http://cvsdude.com

They have been in the business of providing subversion (and cvs)
hosting for over five years, and are focused on ensuring that small
developer teams as well as blue-chip software and design houses are
able to get a top notch service and security for an affordable price.

Plans range from $5.99 to $79.99 / month, and include 1 user and 100MB
through to unlimited users / modules and 7GB of storage. Service is
fast and comes from a dedicated team of experienced engineers (no
“generic” support staff). For a few customer testimonials, please see:

Check out:

http://bazaar-vcs.org/

which is a distributed version control system - you may not need a
dedicated version control server at all! (although, you can if you
want to  )

Bazaar is from Ubuntu/Canonical and to quote ‘it just works’ (and
there is even a capistrano module for bazaar!)

Hello,

We have been using http://www.svnrepository.com/ for a plain simple
subversion hosting.

And talking about dsitributed version control: Darcs. Darcs is to
Subversion what Ruby was for Java in my case.

We moved from Basecamp to ActiveCollab to Unfuddle for mainly project
management and it has been great. The SVN was a big plus for us.

I’ve been Unfuddle for a few projects for several months now. I like
it A LOT. Fast, good SVN support, and the ticket system works well
for me, etc. These are all single developer projects, but I am using
their single account, multi-project setup now, and find that a
worthwhile thing to pay for.

Roundhaus sounds interesting, I’ll have to watch for that.
